Associate Buyer

Position Overview:

The Associate Buyer is an integral role within our operations team that has a high level of commitment to both internal and external customers.  They are responsible for supporting teams across the organization with indirect purchasing activities and additional supply chain initiatives.   They play an important role in our new product development process ensuring purchase orders are executed in timely manner with our supply chain partners. They are eager to learn the Speck business and grow within the operations team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Creates indirect spend purchase orders in SAP
  • Tracks workflow approvals and initiates payments for tooling purchase orders
  • Assists project managers with new vendor setup
  • Submits and confirms purchase order receipts with vendors in Asia and Mexico
  • Works closely with Accounts Payable to resolve open issues
  • Runs and manipulates reports in Excel
  • Supports additional supply-planning responsibilities and projects as necessary
  • Manage 4 key distribution accounts on the demand planning side
  • Achieve consensus for operational demand forecasts by facilitating a collaborative planning process with sales, marketing and finance personnel
  • Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, and evaluate forecast results
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and customers to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts
  • Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning

Your Professional Profile:

  • BA/BS Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or other related discipline
  • 0 -2 years of experience within supply chain is desired; internships are a plus
  • Intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Excel and data compilation and analysis   
  • SAP or other ERP system experience is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, unstructured environment while meeting key deliverables
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time with minimal direction
  • Strong independent judgement and decision making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working directly with retail channels is a plus
