Demand Planner

We are seeking a Demand Planner who is excited to leverage analytics, strategy and partnerships to grow our business across 3 channels to include International, US Telecommunications, and Mass Retailers.  They will be responsible for forecasting demand and planning inventory to drive achievement of company sales objectives while maintaining acceptable inventory levels throughout the product life cycle.  They will develop metrics to be used to determine inventory strategy and support business decisions.  They will actively participates in Planning, Sales and Inventory, PSI process and builds strong partnerships with Sales and Retailers to increase forecasting accuracy and strategies with the retailer.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Create partnerships with Retailers and Sales team to increase forecast accuracy and inventory availability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand demand drivers and inputs into forecast.
  • Forecast weekly and monthly demand, and plan inventory buys.
  • Review all pertinent data – sales, sell through / POS data, account forecast reports
  • Adjust forecasts and inventory targets based on changes in demand and with respect to product life cycle and product lead times.
  • Continually improve forecasts by reviewing and understanding forecasting accuracy results.
  • Actively participate in new product launch demand planning strategies to support sales growth and launch success across retailers.
  • Lead new product launch forecast meetings with Sales to gain inputs for capacity and demand planning.
  • Use derived forecast information to drive MRP system. Continually make adjustments to MRP variables in order to improve inventory management and accuracy.
  • Review inventory levels and develop inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Proactively reviews current processes and systems to drive process improvements and creates new processes or tools when appropriate.
  • Leader on the team responsible for supporting training and mentoring of new hires or more entry level employees.

 

Your Professional Profile:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or other related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in demand planning and inventory management within a retail consumer products, consumer electronics.
  • Sound understanding of retail sales terms and processes preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in forecasting and an understanding of financial and operational impacts from forecasting activities.
  • Experience with ERP (SAP preferred) and replenishment (JustEnough), inventory control processes, and reporting.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel with data analysis.  Database experience helpful.
  • Cross-functional work experience and ability to generate answers from multiple and variant inputs.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, organizational, and decision-making skills.
